Testosterone glucuronide belongs to the class of organic compounds known as steroid glucuronide conjugates. These are sterol lipids containing a glucuronide moiety linked to the steroid skeleton. Thus, testosterone glucuronide is considered to be a steroid conjugate lipid molecule. Testosterone glucuronide exists as a solid, very hydrophobic, practically insoluble (in water), and relatively neutral molecule. Testosterone glucuronide can be biosynthesized from testosterone; which is catalyzed by the enzyme UDP-glucuronosyltransferase 2B17. In cattle, testosterone glucuronide is involved in the metabolic pathway called the androgen and estrogen metabolism pathway.
