Metabolite Identification
Common NamePC(DiMe(11,3)/DiMe(13,5))
DescriptionCalcium belongs to the class of inorganic compounds known as miscellaneous mixed metal/non-metals. These are inorganic compounds containing non-metal as well as metal atoms but not belonging to afore mentioned classes. Calcium is possibly neutral. In humans, calcium is involved in amiodarone action pathway. Circulating calcium is either in the free, ionized form or bound to blood proteins such as serum albumin. Although calcium flow to and from the bone is neutral, about 5 mmol is turned over a day. Seniors absorb calcium lactate, gluconate and citrate better unless they take their calcium supplement with a full breakfast.
